How many students are there in 1 class?
RKS can only accommodate a maximum of 15 students per class. We have 1 head teacher, 1 teacher aide and 1 yaya per class.
What is the schedule of the kids?
Kindergarten will be following the 8:30 am – 1130am class schedule
Pre-Kindergarten will be following the 1:00pm – 4:00pm class schedule
How much are the tuition fees?
Pre-Kindergarten costs Php 80,000 while Kindergarten costs Php 85,000. Kindly refer to our website for detailed information on tuition fee payment modes and schedule.
Do you follow a Progressive Curriculum?
Our curriculum is age appropriate. We use non-traditional methods but not progressive. It is preparatory for Reedley Lower School 1 skills using best practices and international school standards.
Are meals inclusive of the tuition fees?
I am sorry but meals will not be provided by the school. We have a cafeteria where kids may buy their snacks from. But we highly recommend that kids this age bring their own snacks to ensure they eat healthy food.
Will my yaya be allowed to stay inside the school premises? Where will the yayas stay in school?
RKS encourages independence among students and so yaya’s will not be allowed to stay inside the school. We have a Yaya’s Waiting Area near the parking lot where they can wait for the kids.
What are the security measures of RKS?
If you would notice all our entrance and exit points have Security Guards. For RKS students, they will have a separate entrance and exit door separate for Grade School and High School Entrances.
Aside from that, we have also improvised a fetching system where all authorized fetchers are issued appropriate identification card. This system is also applicable for our RKS students.
Do you have a playground or playplace?
Yes. We believe that play is an essential part for interactive and experiential learning.
How often will you hold Parent-Teachers Chat?
We will be having 3 Parent-Teachers Chat every year. But monthly progress reports will be given to the students. This will give you a more accurate picture of how your child performs in school. But you may always set an appointment for teachers and coordinators alike should there be a need to talk to then before the schedule Parent Teachers Chat.
How is your Grading System like?
We have a qualitative and descriptive checklist where skills and descriptors will be assessed.
What are the subjects to be taught?
Basic Skills, Literacy, Numeracy, IQ
How competent are your teachers? Where did you get your teachers?
We hire teachers who are graduates from top local universities with foreign training.
Will there be field trips?
Yes. A parent or a guardian must accompany each child at all times during field trips.
How does the uniform look like? Do they wear black shoes or rubber shoes?
The uniform consists of t-shirt, pants and rubber shoes. They wear uniforms from Monday-Thursday. Friday is a free day so they get to wear casual wear.
Can kids celebrate their birthday parties inside the classroom?
Yes. Those who will hold their parties at Fun Ranch will get special discounts courtesy of Reedley.
Do kids in Kindergarten be guaranteed of a slot in Grade 1?
Kindergarten Kids are given priority for LS1 enrollment slots. However, if the child does not meet the core competencies of Kindergarten, they will be required to undergo the Admissions process for Lower School 1.
Kindergarten Kids will be attending a Moving Up day as commencement exercises for finishing Kindergarten at the end of the School Year.
What is the age cut-off for both levels?
LS1: 6 years old by May 1, 2010SK: 5 years old by May 1, 2010
JK: 4 years by May 1, 2010
How do you deal with kids who are not yet potty-trained as late as 4 years old?
All Pre-Kindergarten kids must be potty trained upon admission.
Will drinking milk in the bottle be allowed inside the classroom (especially those who are not yet trained to drink milk in a sippy cup?)
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten must be to feed themselves with very minimal supervision. Food carts will be on standby inside their classroom during recess time.
Do you have a teacher assistant per class/yaya inside the classroom?
Yes, in addition to the teacher we have 1 teacher assistant and 1 yaya per classroom.
Do you have a nap time?
None. The 3 hours in school will be mainly focused on skills building and preparing them for Lower School.
How long will recess be? During Recess can yaya’s feed the kids?
Recess is 20 minutes long. Yaya’s will not be allowed to feed the kids during recess. We are training our students as young as their age of independence.
Will there be homeworks? How many hours does it take to finish daily?
No homeworks for both level. Take home drill sheets may be issued for further enrichment but will not be graded.
Do they have quarterly exams?
None.
What components make the final grade?
No final grades.
Are there Filipino Classes?
We will not be offering Filipino classes. English is the medium of instruction for all subjects.
How is RKS different from other Kinder Schools?
RKS is a non-traditional school but not progressive. RKS complies with international school standards and implements best practices. It is a foundation school which prepares students for Reedley Lower School 1. Our trademark of nurturing, caring and creating happy students that are better learners is very much alive in its Kindergarten School.
Whom do I approach if I have concerns? Do I directly speak with the teacher? When is the best time to set an appointment?
RKS is a family. You may approach our staff, teachers and leaders for any concerns/suggestions. For concerns that are more officious in nature you may set an appointment with our Kindergarten and Grade School Ambassador and or our Kindergarten Coordinator.
What are the school supplies needed?
All school supplies will be provided for by the RKS.
Will you offer IT Classes?
IT classes will not be offered to RKS students.
Will there be a Foreign Language course?
There will be no Foreign Languages for this level. Mandarin classes will be offered starting from Lower School 1 to Upper School 4.
What accreditation does RKS have?
We will be working on getting WASC Accreditation.
Will you offer school bus service?
This is under discussion since most parents are not interested and have their own drivers.
What are the rates for late enrolees?
JK: 55K after OctoberSK: 60K after October
Late enrolees will be assessed at the end of the School Year. Should they not meet the core competencies of Kindergarten they might be retained at the last level attended.
